Legg Mason's Global Distribution Organization, based in Stamford, Connecticut, is seeking a Junior Data Specialist to join the Client Data Management Team. The position will help the team ingest, cleanse, and perform other actions necessary to maintain the completeness and quality of our client data to be leveraged for sales and marketing efforts.
The Client Data Management Team is responsible for managing the overall quality, completeness and value of the client data utilized globally across all regions within Global Distribution (from internal, client and 3rd-party sources). The group is a strategic enabler of robust business intelligence to support the organization's front line sales, marketing, and analytical efforts aligned to business growth and success.
Performance of routine data management tests and controls to ensure the integrity of client records.
Own daily data maintenance processes - includes data updates, additions and mappings, in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Log, investigate, resolve and respond to internal client data-driven inquiries and requests.
Work with internal distribution partner representatives to obtain accurate, up-to-date advisor data and load to sales and marketing systems.
Extract, transform, cleanse and load data from various sources into the CRM system.
Analyze and pinpoint trouble spots in data and the processes that create and update data.
Identify new processes to help streamline the data quality and completeness efforts within the CRM system.
Provide data extracts and reports for internal stakeholders
Bachelors in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or Information Management
1 to 3 years working experience in a data quality/cleansing role.
Strong computer skills in Excel & Access (pivot tables, lookups and formulas) are critical; SQL knowledge a plus
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, interpret and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Basic relational database understanding
Strong written/verbal communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
Ability to work collaboratively with professionals at all levels of the organization (internal customer service)

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
