Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Trusts & Estates Associate, your role will be pivotal in providing comprehensive legal services to our clients.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1.
Providing expert legal advice in the areas of trust and estate planning, administration, and taxation.
2.
Drafting and reviewing a wide variety of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
3.
Administering trusts and estates, including probate proceedings, trust terminations, and distributions.
4.
Representing clients before tax authorities and in probate and surrogate court proceedings.
5.
Collaborating with tax professionals to develop tax-efficient estate plans.
6.
Staying updated with the latest laws, regulations, and trends in trusts, estates, and taxation to provide the most accurate advice to clients.
7.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, demonstrating a clear understanding of their objectives, and exceeding their service expectations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will possess a robust set of qualifications and experiences.
These include:
1.
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2.
An LLM in Taxation is preferred but not required.
3.
Admission to the Bar of Connecticut.
4.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in trusts and estates law.
5.
A proven track record in administering trusts and estates.
6.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws related to trusts and estates.
7.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
8.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9.
A high level of professionalism and a commitment to client service.
