(CT) is seeking a Senior Tax
to join their team.
Job Description:
The position reports to the Tax
. Responsibilities will include supporting the Tax Manager with various tax
matters and will focus on preparation of certain tax returns, including sales & use, gross receipts, property, and local income taxes. Responsibilities also include tracking and responding to tax notices received from various state and local tax jurisdictions and researching sales and use tax issues as needed.
Assist with federal, state, and local tax examinations
Prepare supporting work papers for NAPBD tax financial statements
Prepare Treasury forms for resident signers on non-U.S. bank accounts
Assist with shareholder composite election process
Review invoices for proper assessment and calculation of sales/use tax
Monitor developments in sales and use tax and VAT legislation
Assist in responding to sales and use tax and VAT questions from field teams
Accurately prepare various tax returns and supporting work papers for various tax types, including sales and use, gross receipts, income, and property taxes
Responsible for obtaining and submitting payments with filings as required
Prepare supporting work papers for all sales and use tax filings
Track and respond to tax notices received
Assist with sales tax examinations
Perform research relating to various tax types and issues
Prepare local estimates and extension payments
Assist Tax Manager in the examination of general ledger accounts to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and are supported by proper documentation to meet all tax compliance requirements
Assist with preparation of apportionment work papers
Assist with fixed asset classification and recording of fixed asset acquisitions

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
