Role Summary/Purpose GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation. The Technical Risk Co-Op Intern position reports to the Chief of Engineering & Technical Risk at
GE Capital Energy Financial Services. The Technical Risk Co-op intern will research new trends in
construction, operations & maintenance as well as technological developments in fossil and
renewable energy to optimize the technical underwriting process of new investments and help to
resolve technical issues within the company''s portfolio of energy projects.
Essential Responsibilities Depending on business needs, the position may include participation in the technical
evaluation and underwriting of a new or existing power generation, transmission or distribution
facility for potential investment. The effort may include deep dive into the underlying technology of
the facility, review of project data to confirm operating performance and production assumptions, a
visit to the facility for inspection and interview of onsite staff, research of benchmark data, legal
review of the technical contracts (Construction, Operations, Equipment Services, etc.), and
development of base case and underwriting assumptions for forecast modeling and deal approval before the company''s credit
committee.
Through this position, candidates will be exposed to a wide array of technologies in the power
industry. Candidates will also be directly exposed to plant operations, equipment manufacturing,
detailed design, field construction, project management, and maintenance and full plant
turnarounds. These areas will be viewed from the perspective of the
owner/investor with an eye toward optimizing asset value for the benefit of shareholders.
Candidates will see firsthand how infrastructure projects are developed, selected, financed,
constructed, operated and asset managed in a diverse portfolio of energy industry
projects.
Qualifications/Requirements Basic Requirements:
Completion of all 1st and 2nd year core coursework and well into requirements of selected
major. (All engineering majors are welcome to apply. In special circumstances, we would consider
students studying for a degree in
finance.)
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Strong and demonstrated ability with basic computer tools - especially
spreadsheet calculations, database expertise, word processing and online
research tools/search engines.
Essential Requirements:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
