Position Description
The position of Media buyer reports to the VP/Director Online Media. The buyer possesses the ability to negotiate with clients on media cost and possesses the ability to work constructively with other buyers and assistants in the department. The position requires an organized, detail oriented individual able to meet timelines. The individual must have a sincere interest in the media world and must remain current on marketplace conditions and trends.

Essential Job Functions
Negotiate with Sales Representatives and Sales Managers in the industry to accept advertising via barter.
Negotiate schedules to meet client requirements and maximize profit.
Accommodate clients? media plans within their budget constraints utilizing barter.
Handle client concerns and maintenance of media schedules before, during, and after the schedule runs.
Interact with key top management from the sales and client side as well as billing and credit departments.
Develop and maintain vendor relationships.
Deliver client requirements while maintaining profit goals.
Keep updated on marketplace conditions and trends.
Demonstrates accuracy in all projects.
Meets timelines and deadlines on projects.
Maintain excellent organizational skills.

Minimum 3 years of media buying experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power point and Outlook.
Detail oriented.
Solid Communication ability.
Excellent negotiating skills.
Excellent organizational skills
Able to work alone and with the group seamlessly on tasks.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
