Our client, located in Stamford, CT is seeking a Network Engineer for an immediate full-time position. Details include:
Applicants must demonstrate superior customer service and technical support skills.
Responsibilities:
Someone who is a self-starter, motivated and has some pre-sales skills. Travel once or twice a month for a day or two,10% of time.
-Provide our client's Broadband?s customers with World Class network and customer service
-Customer Retention & Satisfaction;
-Monitor, measure, maintain and oversee network reliability uptime to 99.999%;
-Lead, design and assist in the implementation of complex, highly-available IP networks;
-Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues including site visits when issues cannot be cleared remotely;
-Maintain and monitor local and wide area networks, including firewall, capacity, throughput, environmental, routers, switches, DNS servers;
-Lead, monitor and assist with support calls;
-Maintain support records and reports in CRM system;
-Recommend improvements for customer care and procedures;
-Some on-call responsibilities;
-Provide and lead network design strategy for the data group implementing innovative network design practices for customers and our client's internal infrastructure; and
-Travel as necessary for installation and sales support.
Requirements:
Minimum of five (5)
year?s work experience in related position that includes -
-Designing, building and supporting complex, highly-available switched Ethernet and wireless networks;
-Provide hands on assistance as needed;
-Knowledge of Window95/98/ME/2000/NT/XP, Win7, Linux and MS Server ;
-Working with the following protocols: TCP/IP, ICMP, UDP, SNMP, IPSEC, NAT, VLAN, VoIP, Radius;
-Debugging network issues in a fast and efficient manner;
-Technical support call center environments; and.
-Experience in MDU environment and/or college or university environment a plus;
Nice to have:
Authentication: single sign-on, SAML, IdPs, Federate standards, Shibboleth
Education:
High School Diploma, College preferred, Cisco or other network certifications a plus.
