WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
We are looking for a user experience designer with a passion for engaging user experiences, an eye for
visual consistency, and a knack for reducing the complex to the bare essentials. The ideal candidate will
thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction,
coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at
providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design engagement. The candidate
will also have extensive experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment. A thorough
understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies is a must.
Keep the interface beautiful and easy to use. Direct the visual appearance of all new features and
enhancements on our software application
Initiate, suggest, and spearhead major UI re-factorings for a more intuitive user-experience
Design elegant solutions to complex workflows. Design things that people will talk about
Act as the user-advocate during the development process, subjecting early-stage designs to
usability testing or expert review, and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centered
perspective
Act as go to with in-depth knowledge of user interface best practices and standards. Use
research-related services, theories and methods to support your recommendations
Develop wireframes, behavioral specifications and personas
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Two or more years of user experience design experience for software web applications which
leverage emergent technologies, consumer electronics and/or mobile devices
Strong conceptualization ability, visual communication, drawing skills and sketchbook technique
Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail
Ability to create wireframes as well as visual design comps
Strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks and similar
Ability to prototype UX concepts using HTML/CSS/JavaScript
Experience with user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies
Understanding of common software project management and development practices
ADDITIONAL
Additional software development skills a plus
Bachelors or Masters degree in interaction design, new media design or related a plus
Portfolio to accompany resumeEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
