Description:
- The Data Scientist is responsible leading the delivery for data management, data analyst, reporting, and analysis to make decisions. The role includes design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of forecasting models and pricing algorithms calculations. This includes the development and recommendation of new systems for analyzing data, development of advanced analytics solutions to optimize business processes, and integrating new tools for prescriptive analytics. Uses best practices to develop technical solutions used for descriptive analytics, ETL, predictive modeling, and prescriptive real time decisions analytics.
- Discovery of new technical challenges that can be solved with existing and emerging big data
hardware and software solutions.
- Support work on data and problems across department to drive
improved business & technical results through designing, building, and partnering to implement models.
- Implement and maintain job scripts used to automate jobs, including data ETLs, and maintain and update
MYSQL and Hadoop databases on Linux server cluster.
- Manage data and data requests to improve the
accuracy, quality, completeness, speed of data, and decisions made from data analysis. Build custom
quantitative models by applying advanced statistical methods to drive Descriptive, Predictive &
- Prescriptive Analytics through causal and predictive modeling, forecasting, data mining, simulation,
and optimization.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science/Engineering required
- MSEE preferred
- 3-5 years of related experience data management, predictive analytics, and modeling.
- Ability to understand emerging trends in applied Advanced Analytics, Predictive Modeling & Data Science and utilizes this knowledge to solve business issues ingeniously enabling fact-based decision making.
- Advanced knowledge of industry data sources and ability to work with large databases and datasets for extraction, conversion into useful business information, and analytical purposes.
- Experience with ETL technologies
- Experience in using Hadoop software development to drive data science
- Advanced expertise in Excel (Macros, Pivot Tables)
- Expertise in PL/SQL/ MYSQL, and ETL from data-warehouse and external data
- Predictive Modeling experience with R
- Experience with Relational, Unstructured, Hierarchical, Linked Data types
- Experience in managing and manipulating large, complex datasets
- Understanding of using statistical modeling or machine learning techniques to build models
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required along with demonstrated experience
working with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of the retail energy market place, economics and regulation preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
